COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It looks like most of the weekend will be a washout. National Weather Service forecasters say a stalling out frontal boundary will interact with an approaching disturbance from the west to produce periods of rain and thunderstorms from Friday night through Sunday night.
The heaviest rain is expected to fall from Saturday afternoon through Sunday night.
The front will return northward Sunday setting up warmer conditions and a potential of an isolated strong to severe storm Sunday afternoon and night.
Branch County is expected to get one to three inches of rain through Sunday night while two to four inches of rain is expected in areas closer to Lake Michigan.
Rises on local rivers as well as low and poor drainage areas appear likely, especially where heavier rainfall amounts occur.
