COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A former Quincy school teacher who is facing six charges of criminal sexual conduct has hired private counsel.
Portage attorney Gary Gabry will be representing 43-year-old Jason Farrell, who is accused by Branch County authorities of having inappropriate sexual relations with a teenage girl who was one of his former students.
Since Gabry was recently hired, a probable cause hearing in Branch County District Court that was scheduled to take place Thursday has been adjourned until June 1, 2017.
Farrell is facing two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and four third degree CSC counts. He remains held in the Branch County Jail on $300,000 bond.
Farrell was employed by the Quincy School District for 20 years. He resigned in January 2017, on the same day the district placed him on leave in connection with the allegations of improper conduct.
