JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school baseball, Coldwater dropped to 5-5 in the Interstate 8 and 10-12 overall as they dropped both ends of a Interstate 8 doubleheader at Jackson Lumen Christi by scores of 5-1 and 8-3.
The Cardinals were held to two hits in the opener. Coldwater pitcher Kam Miller struck out nine in six innings of work. Lumen took control of the opener with a four run first inning and they won the nightcap thanks to a six run fifth inning. Collin Torrey homered and drove in two runs in the second game.
The Coldwater J.V. baseball team swept a doubleheader from Lumen Christi by scores of 9-1 and 12-5. Zach Rigot struck out 12 in the opener. Bryce Lafferty had four hits in the twinbill.
In girls softball, Coldwater swept an Interstate 8 doubleheader at Jackson Lumen Christi Wednesday by scores of 4-3 and 13-0. The first game went eight innings. Darlene Horn was the winning pitcher in both games.
Cheyenne Akers had two hits in the first game. Drue Mullin had three hits including a homer in the second game. Horn also had three hits including a double and a triple.
The Lady Cardinals improved to 13-7 overall and 7-3 in the Interstate 8.
