QUINCY, MI (WTVB) -The Quincy Middle School yesterday capped off a two week canned goods and clothing campaign to benefit the Branch Area Food Pantry and Quincy’s Closet.
The effort spearheaded by the QMS student council now in its fourth year includes a charity staff vs. students game and Thursday afternoon featured a dodge ball tournament. The staff pulled out a 64-63 victory but the real winners were the Pantry with hundreds of pounds of food donated, while the non-profit Closet store received 1,015 items including clothing, shoes and household products.
The canned goods will be taken to the Pantry to be weighed Saturday morning with 15-20 seventh and eighth grade student council members unloading the food cargo.
