COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school tennis, Coldwater won three out of four singles matches as they battled to a 4-4 tie at Hastings Monday. Coldwater is now 9-5-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the Interstate 8.
Emma Gripe, Meredith Gripe and Merlyn Johnson got points for Coldwater in their singles matches. Coldwater’s Allison Eastmead and Emily Foulk won their match at number one doubles.
Comstock 7, Bronson 1
The #3 doubles team of Alexis McNees and Lizzy Smith got the only point for the Vikings. Bronson will host the Coldwater junior varsity team at 4:30pm tomorrow.
—MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK—
The Legg Middle School Girls track team beat Jackson Northwest on Monday 86-71 while the boys meet ended in a 80-80 tie.
First place finishes for Legg in the girls meet were by Claudia Rodriguez in Long Jump, Ezma Machan in the 3200 m run, Marissa Cox 800m run, Legend Szafranski 1600m Run, Anna Demeester 400m Dash, Mia Rzepka 200m Hurdles, Claudia Rodriguez 70m Dash, 4 x 400 relay team of Anna Demeester, McKenna Stewart, Ezma Machan, and Marissa Cox, and the 4 x 100 Relay Team of Claudia Rodriguez, Erica Haney, Tasha Pike, and Brynn Babcock.
Second place finishes were Ezma Machan in the Long Jump, Avery Boyce in Pole Vault, Anna Demeester Shot put, Legend Szafranski High jump, Carolyn Potter 3200m run, Mia Rzepka 55 Hurdles, Kathleen Quimby 200m hurdles, Legend Szafranski 200m Dash.
First place finishes for Legg in the boys meet were by Cole Neitzke shot put, Myron Lafty 55 hurdles, Cameron Linton 800m run, Deandre Douglas Pole Vault, Kolby Wagoner 200m dash.
Second place finishes were by: Spencer Rodesiler long jump & 100m dash, Wyatt Force in shot put, Grant Bridges high jump, Antonio Potter 3200m run, Marshall Hoard Pole Vault & 55m hurdles, Deandre Douglas 200 hurdles,
The teams face Marshall at home this Thursday at 4:30.
