QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Quincy split a doubleheader against visiting Reading, dropping the opener 8-7 and taking the nightcap 10-6. Drew Deaton took the loss in the first game, giving up 7 runs, all but one unearned, on 6 hits with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts, while Matt Hagaman, Caleb McCavit, and Dalton Connin had two hits apiece. McCavit and Logan Banks each had two hits and drove in 3 runs in game 2, while Hagaman was the winning pitcher in game 2. The Orioles are now 8-14 overall, 4-6 in the Big 8.

UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Jonesville and Union City completed a game at Alumni Field that was suspended due to darkness on May 5 after 8 innings tied 4-4. The Comets plated the game-winning run in the 10th off losing pitcher Colton Johns to take a 5-4 conference win. Johns had two singles and a double, while Blade Gordon and Isaac Hunt had two hits apiece. The two teams then played a full seven-inning non-conference contest, with Jonesville winning 7-3. Brendan Stuchell had two hits in the nightcap, while Larson Kever had a two-run double. The Chargers drop to 8-17 overall, 5-5 in the Big 8.
