BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A Bronson man was ordered to serve between 38 and 60 months in the Michigan Department of Corrections Monday after he led police on a high speed chase through three counties last January.
43-year-old Scott Allen Calloway was given that sentence in Branch County Circuit Court for third degree fleeing from a police office. He got a concurrent sentence of 29 to 48 months for assault with a deadly weapon, which was his vehicle during the chase.
Calloway entered guilty pleas to the two charges.
Two other assault with a deadly weapon charges were dismissed by prosecutors as part of the plea agreement.
Calloway was given credit for 127 days served in the Branch County Jail.
Judge Bill O’Grady said Calloway put police in a very dangerous situation during the January 8th chase which started in Angola, Indiana.
The pursuit went through Fremont with speeds reaching as high as 75 miles an hour. Branch County Undersheriff Keith Eichler said at the time that Calloway tried to avoid three sets of stop sticks and drove at deputies who were on foot.
The chase ended in a field off of Southern Road near the Branch-Hillsdale County line.
