OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Ovid Township government officials continue to put the pieces back together following a fire just over two months ago that destroyed the Ovid Township Hall, which had just opened in 2005.
A temporary trailer has been purchased by the township from ModSpace after they submitted a bid of just over $12,000. It is located in the parking lot of the burned out Townhip Hall on Old 27 south of Coldwater, and will serve as a temporary location for government business once the power gets hooked up.
The Ovid Township Board last month also hired Longardner Excavating for the demolition of the old building.
Dennis Bell of Bryan, Ohio has been hired to design the new township hall.
A preliminary design for a new township hall maybe ready for review by the board next month.
Township Board meetings have been held at the Kinderhook Township Hall since the fire but they maybe held in the temporary trailer in the future.
