WILLIAMSTON, MI (WTVB) – In high school track and field, Coldwater’s Jasmine Wellett tied the school record in the 100 meter hurdles Saturday with a time of 15.7 at the Williamston Invitational. A video of her record performance is available on our Facebook page. Wellet tied a record set by Amy Somers set in 1994. Wellet also finished first in the 300 hurdles on Saturday.
Coldwater won the boys meet with 132 points. Williamston and Lansing Waverly tied for second with 118 points apiece. Meanwhile, the Coldwater girls finished third. Lansing Waverly won the girls meet with 132 points followed by Williamston with 121 ½ and Coldwater with 98.
Coldwater winners in the boys meet were Zack Murphy in the 800, Jordan Parkinson in the 1600, Shuaib Aljabaly in the 3200 and Conner Covert in the discus. The Cardinals won the 3200 relay.
Faster is the new fastest.The Coldwater Legg Middle School Track Team competed in the Onsted Relays this past Friday. Finishing up a whirlwind week of racing with school records being dashed, the Cardinals took to the track with some momentum vs some very tough competition.
Representing the girls were: (only top 6 place for points)
Girl’s 3200m Relay: Ezma Machan 2nd place overall (out of 18 in the race) and Carolyn Potter finishing 14th (combined 4th place relay team finish).
Girl’s 4x100m Relay: 1st place finsh with the team of Claudia Rodriguez, Erica Haney, Tasha Pike, and Mia Rzepka..
Girl’s 4x400m Relay: 6th place finish with the team of Marissa Cox, Ezma Machan, Mallory Wilbur, and Anna Demeester.
Girl’s 4x800m Relay: 4th place finish with the team of Makaighla Wilbur, Kathleen Quimby, Hannah Robison, and Marissa Cox.
Girl’s 600m Sprint Medley: 5th place finish with the team of Anna Demeester, Claudia Rodriguez, Avery Boyce, Mia Rzepka.
Girl’s Distance Medley: 4th place finish with the team of Carolyn Potter, Mallory Wilbur, Audrey Steele, and Ezma Machan.
Girl’s Shot Put Relay: 5th place finish with the team of Anna Demeester and Jillian McKinley.Girl’s Overall Team Finish: 6th place.

Boy’s 4x800m Relay: 5th place finish with the team of Mohammed Nasser, John Aerts, Dawson Sharpley, and Daifallah Ahmed.
Boy’s Distance Medley: 3rd place finish with the team of Mohammed Nasser, Gavin Budd, Dillion Lawhead, and Antonio Potter.
Boy’s 4x100m Shuttle Hurdle Relay: 1st place finish with the team of Deandre Douglas, Marshall Hoard, Myron Lafty, and Dillion Lawhead.
Boy’s Pole Vault Relay: 3rd place finish with the team of Marshall Hoard and Deandre Douglas.
Boy’s Long Jump Realy: 4th place finish with the team of Spencer Rodesiler, and Kolby Wagoner.
Boy’s Overall Team Finish: 5th place.
Girl’s and Boy’s Combined Team Points Results had Coldwater finishing 5th overall out of the 10 schools competing.
Legg Middle School Cardinals will face Charlotte this Thursday here at home.
