PAVILLION TWP, KALAMAZOO CO, MI (WTVB) – The name of an Athens man who was killed in a freak two vehicle accident in Kalamazoo County Thursday has been released.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department says the fatal victim was 52-year-old Neal Banks. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash which took place at the intersection of P Avenue and South 25th Street in Pavillion Township.
The Sheriff’s Department says a branch was taken down by high winds, which obscured a stop sign at the intersection. A northbound driver did not yield and slammed into a pickup driven by Banks which caused the pickup to roll over.
The name of the other driver has not been released.
The accident is still under investigation.
