COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Superintendent Terry Boguth told the district’s school board on Monday night that a community forum to provide an update on a proposed $29 million bond resolution and millage request will be held at Lakeland Elementary School on Thursday, June 1, 2017 starting at 7:00 p.m.
If voters in the Coldwater district say yes in November, Lakeland Elementary would be replaced by a new 4th and 5th grade building at the site of the current little league diamonds on Western Avenue.
Boguth said an on line survey on district facilities has gotten 350 responses from mostly 40 to 55 year olds.
She said upgrades to the building are running about 60-35 percent in favor while a new elementary building is being favored by at least 65 percent of the survey respondents.
Final results of the survey will be presented during the June 1st meeting at Lakeland.
In other business, a public hearing for the proposed 2017-2018 budget will take place on June 29, 2017. Boguth told the school board they are planning to add positions in this years budget.
