HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater girls varsity soccer advanced to the championship game of the Interstate 8 Conference Silver Division tournament in dramatic fashion, beating Hastings 3-2 in the first minute of sudden death overtime Monday.
Malorie Rzepka scored the game winner, assisted by Olivia Foley. It was Rzepka’s second goal of the game. She also had an assist on a Madison Marsh goal that tied the game at 2-2 with 23 minutes to play in regulation.
Hunter Jenkot had the other assist for the Lady Cardinals, who improved to 1-5-2 in the I-8 and 4-9-3 overall. They will play at Harper Creek Wednesday in the Silver Division Championship. Audrey Hall had 9 saves in goal.
The Coldwater JV team fell to Hastings 7-1. Elise Leggett had the lone goal for the Lady Cardinals.
Hanover-Horton 3, Quincy 0
Hanover-Horton scored all of their goals in the first half as they defeated Quincy 3-0. Cailyn Cook made 14 saves for the Orioles. Quincy’s record is now 11-6-1.
