UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – There has been a house fire in Branch County’s Union Township. 911 Central Dispatch says the occupants of the home escaped without injury in the overnight blaze on Braucker Road at the corner of Francisco Road southeast of Union City.
The alarm came in around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday and the Union City Fire Department called for mutual aid from the Sherwood and Burlington Fire Departments. The Branch County Sheriff’s Department Victim Services Unit was notified. Also on scene were the Michigan State Police and Life Care Ambulance.
Further details were not immediately available as firefighters were on the job throughout the early morning hours.
The State Police Fire Marshall’s Office will be assisting in the investigation of the blaze.
