JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater girls soccer team advanced to the Division 2 district semi finals with a 4-0 win at Jackson Northwest Tuesday. The Lady Cardinals will face Eaton Rapids, who drew a bye in the opening round.
Carlee Larimer started the Coldwater scoring on a penalty kick goal 14 minutes into the game. Madison Marsh scored about one minute later, assisted by Malorie Rzepka. Rzepka then scored with 52 seconds to play in the first half, assisted by Marsh. Olivia Foley scored the final goal of the game off a Rzepka corner kick with 27 minutes to play in the second half.
Audrey Hall made 9 saves in goal for her first varsity shutout.
The Lady Cardinals are now 5-10-3 on the season. Their next game Thursday at Harper Creek is at 5:15 p.m.
The other semi final Thursday will feature Harper Creek against Marshall. Marshall beat Charlotte 8-0 Tuesday, while Harper Creek beat Parma Western in a PK shootout after a 0-0 tie.
Meanwhile, Jackson Lumen Christi defeated Jackson Christian 9-1 in the Division Four districts. Quincy will face Lumen Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at Quincy in the D4 District semifinals.
