BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – In high school golf, Coldwater finished fourth and missed out on qualifying as a team for the Lower Peninsula finals by one stroke Wednesday at the Division Two Boys Golf Regionals at Bedford Valley Golf Club.
Host Gull Lake won the meet with a 320 followed by Marshall at 331 and Jackson Northwest at 336. The Mounties edged Coldwater by one stroke for the final spot in the Lower Peninsula Finals.
On the bright side for Coldwater, Cameron Ruge advanced to the Division Two Lower Peninsula Finals at The Meadows at Grand Valley State University as an individual. Ruge was the medalist with a round of 74. He was also named to the All Regional team.
Alec Keplinger fired an 84 for Coldwater while Tanner Bowers had an 85, Cameron Bopp carded a 94 and Austin Butler had a 96.
Union City was eighth while Bronson finished 12th on Wednesday at the Division Four Boys Golf Regionals at Klinger Lake Country Club. Nick Collyer led Union City with a 91 while Hayden Kreger fired a 96. Brandon Hyska had the low score for Bronson with a 96.
Kalamazoo Hackett won the meet with a 338. Host White Pigeon was second at 343 while Kalamazoo Christian was third at 345.
