COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Township Supervisor Don Rogers has issued a letter to residents which he hopes will clarify the current Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act.
Rogers says there appears to be a lot of conflicting information going around the community that is contrary to what is actually going on.
He points out the state has to have its licensing process in place by December 15, 2017. At that time, anyone applying for a license on the state level will have to have a copy of an ordinance from a local municipality that shows the local community has opted in.
Rogers says a decision by the township board on the act at this time is extremely premature as the rules and regulations regarding the act have not yet been set by the state and nothing has been presented to the board for their action.
The board has appointed a committee to gather as much information as possible on the new law.
