QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A total of 23 vessels were inspected Sunday as the Branch County Sheriff Department’s Marine Patrol and the Marble Chain of Lakes Improvement Association hosted free boat inspections.
Of the 23 inspected over a three hour period at the Marble Lake public access, 17 passed while six others failed.
Of those that did not pass inspection, four had no distress signal while one did not have a registration on board and another has a registration violation.
Owners of boats that did not pass inspection were not given tickets. Boat owners that passed inspection were given a sticker.
