DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Winter and six other Michigan officers who lost their lives in the line of duty will be honored on Wednesday night before the Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park.
Several members from the Branch County Sheriff’s Office will be attending. Captain Fred Blankenship will be escorting Connie Winter and her daughters Cheyenne and Sierra onto the field.
The Tigers and Major League Baseball are partnering with the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund as part of the Sixth Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Night at Comerica Park.
This special night will help raise funds for the forthcoming National Law Enforcement Museum which is under construction in Washington, DC..
The Tigers will donate $10 from each law enforcement ticket package sold directly to the Memorial Fund in support of the National Law Enforcement Museum.
