COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners voted during their work session Thursday to bring forward to their meeting next week a request from Sheriff John Pollack to fill an open road patrol position which is being created by a retiring deputy.
Deputy David Rumens is retiring as of July 5, 2017. The Sheriff said he is looking to fill the position from outside the department since it does not appear anyone is qualified for the position from within.
Pollack said former Deputy Scott Jaye has expressed an interest in the position. He would start at the Tier Two pay level.
Pollack also announced that progress has been made in finding two part-time officers for courthouse security. He said there were six applicants and the Sheriff is hoping to have a couple of names to present during the Commissioners meeting on June 27, 2017.
