COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Pittsford man who was arrested last month following a domestic violence incident in a South Michigan Avenue business parking lot entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors Tuesday in Branch County District Court.
Court officials say 45-year-old Norman Dale Osborne Junior entered a guilty plea to a charge of domestic violence. All other charges will be dropped by prosecutors in exchange for the plea.
Sentencing has been scheduled for July 17, 2017.
Coldwater Police say a woman suffered minor injuries in the May 19, 2017 incident.
Police say the victim and a male co-worker had just pulled into a parking lot where they were employed when Osborn allegedly pulled open the door to their pickup truck and attempted to strike the man in the driver’s seat with a section of exhaust pipe. Police say he also tried but failed to hit the woman with the pipe and then slapped her in the face before fleeing the scene in his vehicle.
Hillsdale County Sheriff’s deputies went to Osborn’s home where he was taken into custody and returned to Coldwater.
