ALLENDALE, MI (WTVB) – The first day of the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 Lower Peninsula Boys Golf Finals is in the books, and Coldwater’s lone representative, Cameron Ruge, fired a round of 81, along with six others, good for 33rd place.
In the team competition, St. Johns leads with a score of 298, East Lansing is second with 312, and Grosse Ile and Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood are tied for third with 313. Marshall is 12th with a score of 334, while Jackson Northwest, the team that edged Coldwater by one stroke for the final slot coming out of last week’s Regional, is 16th with 358.
East Lansing’s Tony Fuentes had the low individual score of the day with a 3-under-par score of 69.
The second and final round at The Meadows at Grand Valley State University gets underway with a 9am shotgun start. Live scoring updates from the course are available here.
