COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Hodunk-Messenger Lake Improvement Board has scheduled a public hearing for Saturday, July 29, 2017 in order gather comments on the practicability of a four year improvement project for the Hodunk-Messenger Lake Chain.
The public hearing will start at 8:00 a.m. and it will be held in the Community Health Center of Branch County Community Care and Conference Center on East Chicago which is the old K-Mart Building.
The project will consist of aquatic plant control, plant control coordination and field evaluations. It will also consist water quality monitoring, hydro-acoustic mapping administration and contingencies.
It would run from 2018 until 2021 with an annual cost of $136,600.
A special assessment roll has been prepared by Coldwater Township and the City of Coldwater.
Those who object to their special assessment may file a protest within 30 days with the Lake Improvement Board.
