COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Eagles and the American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive Tuesday, as the Red Cross says they are facing a critical blood shortage.
The blood drive will be conducted from 10:30 a.m. until 4:15 p.m.
The Red Cross has issued an emergency call for eligible blood and platelet donors of all blood types because donations have fallen short of expectations for the past two months.
They say this has resulted in about 61,000 fewer donations than needed and is causing a significant draw down of the Red Cross blood supply.
The shortfall is the equivalent to not collecting any blood donations for more than four days.
