COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council Monday night was originally scheduled to approve a total of $92,600 for the 2017 Street Maintenance Program and material testing but after a public notice mistake was found, the agenda item was pulled.
City Manager Keith Baker says city officials missed a public notice step as part of the bid process so to be totally transparent, the project will be rebid and brought back to the Council at a later time.
Staff had earlier recommended that Excell Paving Plus be awarded the project after they had submitted a bid of nearly $78,000 for street maintenance work.
Soil and Materials Engineers was to have been used to test materials during the course of the project with a budget of $15,000.
The milling and resurfacing is scheduled to be performed on North Hudson from East Pierce to Elizabeth; on Hatch from Polk to Fremont and on Elm from Park to Pearl.
