COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A major street and infrastructure project in the city of Coldwter is moving to the next stage. City Manager Keith Baker told the Coldwater City Council Monday night that the contractor for the Grand and Church street project is now working on the water main.
A detour of Marshall Street will be necessary in the near future. Drivers are being asked to be aware of and obey the traffic barricades and posted detours during the course of the project.
The project is expected to be completed by the time school resumes in August.
In addition, Baker says work continues on the city’s Wastewater Treatment Plant Equalization Tank project. The two tanks are being leak tested this week. Upon testing completion piping will start in earnest. The project is still tentatively scheduled to be completed by late fall.
Meanwhile, the city plans to have the old US-12 Bridge inspected for safety and to evaluate its current condition. Once the report is done, a staff report will be reviewed by the City Council.
