COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater teenager who has been charged in connection with alleged computer sex crimes involving minors and for the alleged sexual assaults of a juvenile female waived his Branch County District Court preliminary exam Thursday.
18-year old Shane William Watson has been bound over to Branch County Circuit Court, where a pre-trial conference was scheduled for July 24, 2017.
Watson originally faced three charges, but four additional charges were filed by prosecutors after he allegedly had a sexual encounter with the 13-year-old girl from the original case while he was out on bond.
The charges now include three counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct.
Bond in the original case has been cancelled while a $500,000 bond is now set in the second case.
The arrests came following Coldwater Police Department investigations.
