STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – The use of an angle grinder may have been the cause of a fire early Friday morning which destroyed a detached garage in Sturgis.
The blaze broke out in the 200 block of First Street at around 1:30 a.m.
A police officer reportedly spotted and smelled smoke in the neighborhood.
The Sturgis Fire Department says much of the interior caught fire and several items inside the structure were damaged.
Firefighters were on the scene for over two hours.
