COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Nine persons were hurt Monday morning in Coldwater when a minivan and a large SUV collided at a busy intersection on the city’s north side.
The accident happened at around 10:40 a.m. and a news release from the Coldwater Public Safety Department said a northbound vehicle on Marshall Street driven by 31-year-old Sultan Al-Kaifi of Coldwater failed to stop at the red light.
His van struck the side of a Chevy Suburban traveling west on State Street which was driven by 52-year-old Harvey Champion of Quincy.
City Police said none of the injuries were believed to be serious. The injured were transported by Life Care Ambulance to the Community Health Center of Branch County.
Coldwater officers were on scene for about an hour and a half and were assisted by the Branch County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police.
