Branch County is updating its Recreation Plan and they want to hear from community members. The County is launching a 10 minute survey at www.branchparksurvey.com which will be available until August 21.
It will ask for feedback regarding the County Parks and it also poses questions about what improvements are needed at the six parks Branch County owns and operates.
The six parks are Memorial Park, Riverbend Park, Gilead Lake Park, Quincy Marble Lake Park, Angel Cove Park, and Ray Park.
Memorial, Riverbend, Quincy and Angel Cove each offer overnight camping.
The Recreation Plan follows the guidelines for Community Park, Recreation, Open Space, and Greenway Plans as published by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR).
Officials say the plan will set goals and objectives for the next five years as well as identify potential improvements and expansions. A completed recreation plan allows the County to become eligible for recreation grant opportunities. A grant from the state has been used over the last five years to help fund improvements at Memorial Park.
The County Park Trustees plan to complete the Recreation Plan Update in early 2018. Questions or other comments about Branch County Parks can be directed to County Park Manager Trent Arver at 279-9850.
