COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to bring forward to next week’s meeting a request from Branch County Emergency Management to purchase three new consoles.
911 Director Kurt Spalding said they need to replace some outdated equipment that is about 15 years old.
He added it will take about six months for the new equipment to be installed.
The 911 Communications Board approved the purchase of the consoles during their July 12, 2017 meeting at a price no higher than $429,000.
Spalding has been asked by the board to negotiate with Motorola in an attempt to bring the price down to the original quote of $395,000 which was submitted before a June 28 deadline.
