ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – Four Bronson residents including two young children were injured Tuesday afternoon in a two vehicle crash on I-69 about a mile south of State Road 120 in Steuben County.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened at about 2:40 p.m. on the northbound side when a semi in front of 53-year-old Deborah Myers of Bronson slowed abruptly. As Myers slowed her vehicle, a box truck driven by 63-year-old Daniel Gardner of Coloma struck her in the back.
The impact pushed the Myers vehicle off the east side of the road and down a steep ditch.
Taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne were Myers along with 29-year-old Ashley Saterlee, 3-year-old Blake Saterlee and 4-year-old Alaina Saterlee. Gardner was not injured.
Police say further injuries were prevented by the use of seat belts and child safety seats.
