BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Lady Cardinals golf team opened their 2017 season by finishing third Wednesday at the 11-team Scott Family Gull Lake Invitational at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek. St. Joseph won the event with a 354 followed by Kalamazoo Hackett Catholic Central which had a 356 and then Coldwater shot a team score of 372.
Coldwater was led by Jayla Goodwin who came in third place with a round of 84. Hunter Jenkot had a 90, Claire Sheppard shot a 95, Micki Slack carded a 103 and Kelly Warner rounded out the scoring with a 117.
Coldwater will next travel to Jackson for the 36th annual Western High School Invitational Friday.
