COLON, MI (WTVB) – A former Quincy school principal was recently named as the new Superintendent for the Colon Community School district.
Penny Brockway had been working in the Calhoun Intermediate School District before taking the position in Colon.
Brockway spent over a year dedicated to the work of the Blueprint for Systemic Reconfiguration in which she teamed with four others to build and launch the Blueprint’s Leadership Academy for superintendents and principals across the state.
She left her job in Quincy in late 2014.
Brockway came under fire in 2010 after she wrote a letter to the judge hearing the case of substitute teacher, coach and parent Doug Jodway which requested a minimal allowable sentence for the sake of his two children after Jodway was convicted on child pornography possession.
Brockway served nine years as a principal in Quincy first at Jennings Elementary and then at Quincy Middle School.
At one time, she was a high school English Language Arts teacher for Coldwater Community Schools.
