TECUMSEH, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater High School had four golfers finish in the top ten as they finished second Monday at the Tecumseh Invitational in an event which featured 10 teams. Coldwater had a team score of 379. Saline, one of the top Division One teams in the state, won the event with a team score of 321. They were the only two teams to break 400 on the Hantz Golf Course.
Jayla Goodwin shooting a round of 93 for 6th place, Claire Sheppard had a 94 for 7th place, Hunter Jenkot shot a 95 for 8th place and Kelly Warner shot a 97 which tied her for 10th place overall. Molly Smith rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a 101.
Coldwater hosted a JV Jamboree on Monday as well and finished first ahead of Battle Creek Lakeview and Marshall. Coldwater had a team score of 195 to Marshall’s 225 and Lakeview’s 245.
Coldwater’s Micki Slack was medalist with a round of 44 followed by Elloree Madden with a 46, Abby Coffing and Mackenzie Koch each shot a 52, Alexis Musselman and Diona Kashian each had 53’s, Avery Volkmer had a 57 and Morgan Beckhusen rounded out the scoring with a 59.
Coldwater will host Sturgis for a dual meet on Tuesday and will also host the first I – 8 Jamboree of the season on Wednesday at the Coldwater Golf Course.
