COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In a renewal of the Sauk Trail Challenge, which is a competition between Sturgis and Coldwater in girls high schol golf, Sturgis came to Coldwater Tuesday and won the 1st round of the event shooting a team score of 187 to Coldwater’s 193.
The match will conclude in a match play event at the Island Hills Golf Course September 20 where Coldwater will attempt to keep the trophy, which they won last year at the Coldwater Golf Course.
Coldwater was led by Jayla Goodwin with a 42, Claire Sheppard shot a 48, Molly Smith had a 49, Kelly Warner carded a 54, Hunter Jenkot had a 58 and Micki Slack shot a 66.
Coldwater will host the first Interstate 8 Conference jamboree of the season Wednesday afternoon.
