COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Jackson Lumen Christi won the first Interstate 8 Jamboree of the season on Wednesday which was hosted by Coldwater at the Coldwater Golf Course. Lumen Christi won with a team score of 174. Coldwater was second with a 186. Marshall and Hastings tied with 197’s but Marshall took third place on the strength of their fifth person score.
Coldwater’s Jayla Goodwin and Lumen Christie’s Hillary Ziemba tied for medalist honors with each shooting a round of 40. Coldwater’s other scores were Claire Sheppard and Hunter Jenkot with 48’s, Molly Smith carded a 50, Micki Slack had a 55 and Kelly Warner rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a 60.
Coldwater returns to action next Tuesday when it attends the Adrian Maple Invitational at the Lenawee Country Club.
In girls swimming and diving, Coldwater opened its season at the Dr Robert W. Browne Aquatic Center Wednesday, falling to Adrian 110 -75.
Brooke Neitzert broke a team record in the one meter diving. Earning wins for the Lady Cards were Jayda Kelly in the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Butterfly and Kory Ulrich in the 500 Freestyle. Also the relay team of Kenydee Otto, Makinzie Groves, Jayda Kelly and Kory Ulrich finished first in the 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle relays. The Coldwater girls swim again this Saturday at a relay invite hosted by Lakeview High School.
