COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A new member of the Coldwater Police Department is scheduled to start work Monday.
Coldwater Public Safety Director Mark Bartell says Officer Darin Wilcox will take over for Korin Bordner, who is moving into the Special Duty Officer position to collaborate with the Neighborhood Services Department.
Wilcox has eight years of experience as a police officer in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and with the University of Tennessee Police Department.
Bartell says in a memo to the Coldwater City Council for Monday night’s meeting that Wilcox’s wife is originally from Michigan and her parents and other family still live here. He has made a number of visits and hopes to buy a home in Coldwater soon.
Wilcox will have to complete a Field Training program when he starts his new duties Monday.
