COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A four-wheeler accident this summer in Branch County’s Algansee Township forever changed the life of a very athletic youngster and now a local business is holding a fundraiser to help out the 12-year old boy and his family.
It was June 27, 2017 when middle-schooler Braydan Doster-Tidwell was at a friend’s house at Bartholomew Lake where 4-wheelers were bring ridden and the incident occured. Braydan’s left leg was pinned between the machine and a tree, and six surgeries later, he continues to learn how to handle everyday activities with just one leg.
Besides dealing with the amputation and trying to keep Braydan’s spirits up, family and friends are rallying together to help ease the financial burden the Tidwell’s are facing. In addition to a GoFundMe page, Rainbow Motor Sales is hosting a fund-raising event.
The longtime Coldwater business is selling bracelets for $2 each. All the proceeds will be given to the Tidwell family and the business owners are matching whatever is raised from the bracelet sales. The next step includes fitting Braydan for three different prosthetics, one for water, one for sports and one for everyday wear.
The $2 bracelets can be purchased at Rainbow Motor Sales on U.S 12 at North Fremont Road, Coldwater.
