COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A coach for Girls on the Run of Branch County is training for the Chicago Marathon on October 9th.
Amber Case is collecting donations that will benefit Girls on the Run, which is a ten week program for girls in third, fourth and fifth grade.
Girls learn critical life skills including managing emotions, resolving conflict, helping others and making intentional decisions during the program.
Case is one of about 35 volunteer coaches who make this program possible.

The Girls on the Run program in Branch County’s is now 10 years old and has grown from 52 girls the first year to 188 participants in 2017. There are over 50 volunteers involved with the program.
The program is funded by donations from individuals, service clubs, companies, and grants. Registration for the Branch County program starts in November with the program running from March through May.
