BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – In girls swimming and diving Saturday, Coldwater finished fifth at the Battle Creek Central Invitational. The meet was a bracketed meet where each bracket scores separately.
Winning and breaking the team record for the 50 Freestyle, Jayda Kelly swam a state qualifying time which enters into the D2 state meet. She also picked up a win in the 100 Breaststroke. The Cardinal Girls swim again Tuesday at Marshall at 6:00 p.m.

The relay team of Jayda Kelly, Kory Ulrich, Kinzie Groves and Kenydee Otto finished second in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.
In cross country, Bronson’s boys were fourth while the Bronson girls were 13th in Division 4 at the Holly Invitational. Bronson was among 18 schools competing in the Division 4 races. Luis Ortiz was the top finisher for Bronson in the boys race as he was 27th. Colin Ransbottom was 33rd while Daniel Barajas was 39th and Hunter Trine was 41st. Xochiti Garcia was 12th for Bronson in the girls race.
The Union City boys finished seventh at the Mendon Invitational. Bobby Hurley was 13th while Owen Needham was 47th. The Union City girls did not have enough runners for a team score. Marionna Bigelow finished 44th. Grace Spenelli was 66th.
