LANSING, MI (WTVB) – A resolution that extends funding for the Branch County Sheriff’s Department to continue patrols of city and village streets in the county is being applauded by State Representative Eric Leutheuser of Hillsdale.
The resolution was introduced by State Representative Aaron Miller of Sturgis.
It extends secondary road funding to county sheriff’s departments so they can provide patrols to municipalities that have reduced their police departments because of economic hardship.
The measure was approved Wednesday by the House Appropriations Committee and now goes to the full House for consideration.
