COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Downtown Development Authority board recommended to the City Council Wednesday morning that design plans calling for 90 degree parking and 116 spaces in the Chandler Plaza parking lot be approved.
It was one of two plans being considered. The other plan called for 87 spaces at an angle along with green space and a festival area. Access from Division Street would also be closed off.
But the 87 stall plan was criticized by a pair of downtown business representatives during last months D.D.A. meeting.
The Chandler Plaza parking lot currently has 143 spaces. It is scheduled to be reconstructed next summer. City officials hope to solicit bids for the project later this fall.
