UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The lights went out in Union City Wednesday afternoon.
The entire village lost power just after 12 noon.
Village officials said on their Facebook it could be a lengthy outage as they had to wait for Consumer’s Energy to fix their infrastructure before the village could fix theirs.
Those without power were told to have patience.
The cause of the outage was not known as of early afternoon.
The power outage forced Union City Community Schools to send students home early. Elementary students were dismissed at 1:30 p.m., followed by the middle school and the high school.
