COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Director Paul Beckhusen told the CBPU Board of Directors Wednesday that six members of the utility who have been helping to restore power in Florida following Hurricane Irma were heading back home.
Three pieces of CBPU equipment went to Florida September 9, 2017 along with Journeyman Linemen Steve Barone and Jory Watson, Apprentice Linemen Eric Green and Jarret Wolford, and Service Electricians Kerry Skinner and Glen Raymond.
They all volunteered to assist when Coldwater got the call for mutual aid assistance.
Beckhusen said they worked 16 hour days in Tallahassee and Ocala in very hot conditions.
Wednesday’s meeting was also the last for Beckhusen, who has been the CBPU Director since 2003. He will be leaving the CBPU at the end of the month to become head of he Michigan South Central Power Agency.
