HOMER, MI (WTVB)- A 35-year-old Homer Township man was arrested early Monday after the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says he assaulted his estranged wife with a box cutter and barricaded her in a room.
The alleged incident took place in the 5000 block of 28 Mile Road at about 2:15 a.m. Monday.
Deputies determined that the alleged 24-year-old victim had her clothes cut off. She was also barricaded in a room for about an hour before she was able to escape. She sustained minor injuries.
Deputies entered the home and arrested the suspect and he was lodged at the Calhoun County Jail. The pair were were married, but separated, and not living together at the time of the incident.
