COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With Coldwater High School Principal Bill Milnes soon to be on medical leave, the Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education approved a Daily Employment Contract with Doug Bower Monday night.
Board Vice-President Nick Krzeminski said Bower will provide support at the high school while Milnes was away for medical appointments.
Bower and Krista Searles will both serve as assistant principals. Board member Claire Dean pointed out the daily rate for Bower was the same pay as teachers. Bower retired several years ago after serving as principal at Coldwater’s Jefferson Elementary.
Also during a brief and routine meeting, the board approved a letter of understanding with the Coldwater Educational Support Personnel Association which calls for a new classification of assistant secretaries. It establishes the hourly wages for those positions and goes into effect October 2, 2017.
