JONESVILLE, MI (WTVB) – In high school cross country, Quincy’s girls and Jonesville’s boys were the team winners Tuesday in the first Big 8 Conference Jamboree of the season which was held at the Mill Race Golf Course in Jonesville.
Quincy won the girls race with 56 points thanks to four top 15 finishes. Concord was second with 72 points. Bronson was seventh and Union City was eighth. Quincy’s Harmony Harpster was fifth while Madelyn Allman was sixth, Meri Michael was 13th and Makenzie Blatter was 15th. Bronson’s Xochitl Garcia was seventh while Union City’s Marionna Bigelow was 26th.
Jonesville won the boys race with 45 points. Bronson had four runners in the top 15 as they finished second with 54 points. Quincy was fourth while Union City was seventh. Quincy’s Nathan Nohr won the race in a time of 17:36.1. His teammate Ian Trail was 11th. Bronson’s Luis Ortiz was fourth while Colin Ransbottom was seventh, Hunter Trine was 12th and Daniel Barajas was 13th. Owen Needham was 33rd for Union City.
Girls Volleyball—
Bronson 3, Concord 0 (25-9, 25-15 and 25-16)
Ashton Wronikowski recorded 11 kills, two blocks and two aces as the Vikings improved to 4-0 in the Big 8 and 32-4-2 overall. Keona Salesman recorded 10 kills and four digs while Kiana Mayer had 32 assists.
Quincy 3, Reading 0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-18).

Quincy Varsity travels to Grass Lake for a tournament on Saturday.
Jonesville 3, Union City 0 (25-27, 16-25, 12-25)
Bracy Swift and Emma White each had four digs. Swift also had six kills. Emma Elgan had four blocks while Allison Adams and Alexis Liskovec both had three assists.
Middle School Volleyball—
The Coldwater 7th grade B team fell 3-0 at Jackson Northwest by scores of 21-25, 13-25, and 8-15. Roselyn Ramos lead the team serving for 6 points including 4 aces. The team will face Parma Western Thursday at 4:30 at Coldwater High School.
