COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Large portions of Branch County, including the city of Coldwater, remain without power Sunday morning, and some customers may not be restored until late Sunday night.
Coldwter Board of Public Utilities officials say a major transmission line feeding the city, as well as a portion of the county south of Coldwater, failed during a thunderstorm and high winds Saturday evening around 8:30 p.m. Consumers Energy controls and maintains that transmission line.
Consumers Energy says restoration for the area south of Coldwater should be by 1:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon. They are not giving any restoration estimate for the line feeding the city of Coldwater.
The restoration time for scattered pockets of outages near Bronson and Union City is now put at 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
