FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – A fatal three vehicle accident on the west side of Fremont, Indiana Wednesday afternoon forced the shutdown of State Road 120 for almost four hours.
Fremont Police say the crash happened at about 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Swager Drive. According to their preliminary investigation, a 2003 Dodge pickup driven by 29-year-old Tyler Sanders of Hudson, Indiana struck the back of a 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada driven by 50-year-old Joel Lusch that had stopped and was trying to turn left.
The impact caused the Bravada to be pushed into the path of a semi driven by 51-year-old William Randick of Birch Run, Michigan. Sanders and Randick were not injured but Lusch was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. The accident is still under investigation by the Fremont Police Department and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
