COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The latest U.S. Drought Monitor report has not changed since last week.
The latest report released Thursday shows Branch County, along with most of the southern half of the lower peninsula, is still abnormally dry with 43 percent of Michigan in that category.
Northern Calhoun County is part of the five percent of Michigan which is still in a moderate drought.
The report was through Tuesday morning before the latest round of rain.
After a dry summer, the web site www.accuweather.com says Coldwater has gotten almost two inches of inches of rain since last Wednesday.
